Shaneesa N. Ashford, Ed.D., became a member in Fall 1991 through Gamma Alpha Chapter at Florida A&M University (FAMU) and has since served on every level of the Sorority in elected and appointed positions.

Dr. Ashford is a nonprofit, leadership and communications consultant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from FAMU, a master’s degree in Nonprofit Organizations from the University of Georgia (UGA), a Juris Master from the School of Law at Emory University, focusing on conflict management and a Doctor of Education degree in Workforce Education from UGA, with a research focus on leadership development.

She holds membership in the FAMU National Alumni Association, the National Association of Parliamentarians, the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action, the Association for Education Communications and Technology, the Society for Emerging and Advanced Facilitators and the Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education.
